Ski touring in the Flumserberg winter sports region

Above the picturesque Lake Walen in the Flumserberg winter sports region, the Spitzmeilen and Wissmeilen ski tour takes you from Flumserberg to the impressive landmarks of the ski area. The medium-difficulty day tour is around 18 kilometres long and offers a pure experience of nature in a breathtaking alpine setting. Ski mountaineering involves ascents totalling 820 metres and descents of 1,650 metres. You should plan for a duration of around 6 hours.

The challenge begins with the steep summit couloir at Spitzmeilen, which requires technical skill and the use of ice axes and crampons. However, the view from the summit makes up for the effort. Neighbouring Wissmeilen offers a somewhat more relaxed alternative for ski tourers of all levels and snowshoe hikers. After the summit ascents, numerous cosy huts in the Flumserberg ski area invite you to stop off and warm up. The descent into the valley is via the groomed pistes.

Varied summit tour for beginners

On the Mütschüelergulmen ski tour, even newcomers to ski touring can enter the magical world of the Flumserberg. The summit is a somewhat lesser-known but no less fascinating destination in this ski touring paradise. With a length of around 15.6 kilometres and a duration of around 4 hours, this tour is ideal if you are looking for an entertaining yet rewarding summit experience.

Ski touring on the Mütschüelergulmen offers a perfect balance between ascent and descent. Compared to some other tours in the area, this route contains fewer flat sections, which allows for continuous skiing enjoyment. Particularly appealing are the pleasant descent and the amazing views from the summit, which extend over the snow-covered mountains and valleys of the surrounding area. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, the tranquillity of unspoilt nature and the breathtaking panorama from the summit of the Mütschüelergulmen.

Solitary ski mountaineering away from the hustle and bustle of the pistes

The demanding Wissmeilen ski tour is a summit adventure that challenges ski enthusiasts and rewards them with breathtaking views. The ski mountaineering tour is around 11.2 kilometres long and takes around 6 hours. The ski tour takes you from Engi Weberei through the picturesque Üblital valley and along the idyllic Mülibach stream and includes ascents totalling 1,668 metres in altitude. An excellent level of fitness is a must for this tour.

Before you reach the Mülibachtal ski hut, the route takes you along snow-covered paths and through majestic Alpine valleys. You then climb further up, past the charming alpine huts of Mülibach Oberstafel. The summer trail leads you to the imposing Wissmeilen Pass, from where you climb the western flank of the mountain to reach the summit. The view from Wissmeilen is truly magnificent. Surrounded by unspoilt nature and snow-capped peaks, the view stretches far across the Glarus Alps. The silence of the secluded landscape and the feeling of fulfilment when you reach the summit make ski touring here an unforgettable experience for experienced ski tourers looking for a real challenge.
