A tour that is not done too often in the magnificent alpine surroundings of Kalkkögel. A great experience for experienced mountaineers who don't lose their nerve even on the third loose hold. The wall book has been in place since 1986 and still has room for a few more ascents.

12 August 2015
I had been toying with the idea of doing a sport climbing tour on the Kirchdachsockel opposite the Pinnisalm for some time. I decided on the men's wall to the right of the classic icefall "Men without nerves". I reached the wall from above via an old via ferrata without a steel cable, which was built in the 1980s for a Land der Berge film production, and looked for the easiest line in the best rock. The result after a week of installing ropes, drilling the route, cleaning and trying is impressive: 5 great lengths in steep, rough rock, good footholds, countless sloper holds and a fantastic landscape behind me. The route is mostly 7th grade and is completely secured with bolts (thanks Austrialpin!). On 4 August, I was able to get my first RP ascent with Peter Manhartsberger, and a week later we went out to shoot photos together with Rainer Stingl. Thanks for the great pics, Peter!
For all repeaters: bring 70 metres of single rope and approx. 13 slings. Unfortunately, the beautiful original entry slab on the left (6+) is often wet, so I also drilled in the crack on the right (also 6+), which usually stays dry! Abseiling 35m, 20m, 35m, 30m. The level of difficulty should also be mastered between the pitons! Have fun! The best way to get there is by bike and the Elferlift (www.elferlifte.at). Beer afterwards at the Pinnisalm!
