The ascent to Mont Pelvoux - Pointe Puiseux, 3,943 m, is a fantastic alpine undertaking in itself. Together with the traverse, it is a full-blown high-altitude tour: start in the dark, a famous coloir, a panoramic glacier hike on the "roof of the Écrins massif" and then exciting high-alpine abseils.
