Mountain hikes in Carinthia

Vom idyllischen Wolayersee steigen wir über den kühn angelegten Spinotti-Steig auf die Hohe Warte auf, den mit 2780 m höchsten Gipfel der Karnischen Alpen. Etappenziel ist das Rifugio Marinelli.

Der Geotrail führt in jene Zeit vor 400 Millionen Jahre zurück, als die Gesteine, welche heute die Berge rund um den idyllischen Wolayersee bilden, in einem tropischen Meer abgelagert wurden.

Vom idyllisch gelegenen Wolaysersee steigen wir über das Valentintörl zum Rauchkofel auf. Am Gipfel genießen wir den prächtigen Panoramablick in die umgebende Bergwelt. Abschließend besteigen wir noch den Frauenhügel mit dem Kriegerdenkmal oberhalb der Wolayserseehütte.

Wie überschreiten den Bergstock auf der „alta via“ an der Grenze zwischen Italien und Osterreich.

The Brennkogel is one of the easy three-thousand metre peaks in the Glockner group and can be reached quickly from the Hochtor via a section of the Klagenfurt Jubilee Trail.

Extensive tour in the central Nockberge mountains from the Großer Königstuhl to the Koflernock, mostly over ridges and crests off the beaten track.

The Kalkriegel or Kalkriegl is reached via pathless slopes from the Nockalmstraße. A beautiful ridge hike continues to the Peitlernock.
