You can also walk the route in sections.  There are several pubs and cafes along the route. Odd Down park & Ride to Lansdown Park & Ride (with an option to break at Newbridge Park & Ride). This walk is one of four that together circle Bath. This is the longest section of the Circuitof Bath, however it can easily be split into two by stopping at Newbridge. To Newbridge the route meanders through farmland and woodland before passing through the picture perfect village of Englishcombe. From Newbridge, after a short climb through Newbridge Slopes nature reserve and into Weston it then ascends towards the famous landmarkof Beckford’s Tower offering stunning views all the way up. This walk has been created in partnership with the Bathscape Project. Bathscape works to improve the countryside around Bath - the green landscape setting of the world heritage site.  It does this by encouraging peoples’ active enjoyment of the landscape and increasing access to the countryside, particularly for those who don’t typically do that.  This is done through walking groups, the Bathscape Walking Festival, physical improvements to footpaths, trail guides like this one, schools resources, volunteering and family activities in parks.  Activities are focussed with groups and in areas of higher need. The project also does this through providing advice to landowners of woodlands and grasslands, and via its own Community Action for Nature Volunteers. The work includes tree planting, woodland management, meadow creation, encouraging more species diversity in grassland sites.

Brassknocker Basin (near Monkton Combe) to Odd Down P&R. This walk is one of four that together circle Bath. Starting gently this leg first follows the Midford Brook, and then the disused Somersetshire Coal Canal passing the site of the historic Combe Hay Locks. It then climbs up to rewarding views from the Millennium view point over the Southern Bathscape. Take in the views from the Skyline of Bath Walk. Bath Skyline, delivers just what it says on the tin...amazing skyline views over Bath and the surrounding countryside. It's the perfect dog walking area or family day out, with a good short walk covering woodlands and meadows.  Great for hill hikers and for those who like history there's an ancient castle which can be explored.

Tour River Avon

Bath is known for the historic Pulteney Bridge, which spans the Avon. But have you considered how beautiful a walk down the River Avon might be? We can tell you right now that it's very beautiful, especially in the summer! The River Avon Trail runs from Pulteney Bridge to the opposite side of Bristo.  The Bristol and Bath Railway Path is located west of the River Avon. It forms a moderate round path when paired with the River Avon Trail. There are other riverfront bars along the route, including the excellent Locksbrook Inn, where you can relax and enjoy the relaxed pace of life along the river.
